Pretty Princesses
I took the girls for birthday pictures. What fun, note to self: with twins always book two appointments. It just takes longer and don’t ever think that they will both look exceptionally cute at the same time in front of a camera, you are fooling yourself. Here are some of the results:
I haven’t been posting as much lately. Life just seems more and more busy lately, yet I don’t think I get any more done in a day, probably less. As the girls grow they get more and more busy and sleep less and less during the day.Since they can’t sit or move on their own yet, but cognitively they want to play the same as any other 9 month old, it’s a bit more challenging to occupy them for long periods of time.
Kassie changed so much during the time Lena and I were in hospital. She went from this quiet little mouse to a talkative, busy little girl who wants to play play play. She does so much more that she did even one month ago and is changing so fast. She is a busy little bee with a short attention span, grabbing everything in reach. She is so curious. Now that Lena has recovered for the most part (still working on catching up in gross motor activity and her hair has not all grown back) I am seeing changes in her almost daily. It seems like in the last 2-3 days she has really taken off. Her new favorite noise is a long low growl. I have to get it on video and figure out how to post it, it’s too funny. We’ve started calling her "Lena the Lion".
Lena has starting to get back the motor skills and control she had before she became ill, once we have those under control again we will have to work on gaining some. Our OT told us last week that it can take 2-3 weeks for every week in hospital to gain back muscle strength and control. She wants to sit so badly, she tries so hard. I feel for her some times, some days she is so tight that we have to stretch her just so the she can sit comfortably supported. Kassie on the other hand is rather nonchalant about sitting and moving. She can sit on her own now for a few seconds at a time, she’s making progress toward being a independent sitting girl but it’s really no big deal to her. Lena defiantly has more drive, a good thing since she will have more challenges.

Oh, the pics are so cute! They really are growing and changing. I love hearing about how their different personalities are emerging more and more.
Don’t think that getting a good picture of the two of them together, both looking at the camera, and both looking cute, gets any easier! It’s been harder every year!
Oh my goodness what FABULOUS pictures! LOVE them.
