Kassie - Big Smile

I can sit ALL BY MYSELF!

YEAH I DID IT!

Lena - Talking with Mom!

Play Time with Bear!

Sitting Pretty!

The girls have been making developmental leaps and bounds lately. Kassie can now not only sit but she can sit unaided for long periods of time. She can now officially join me on the kitchen floor. Daddy threatened to bring out the pots and pans the other day, so maybe there will be some drummer girl pictures in our near future. Lena is getting much better with her posture and upper body strength, she holds her head much better now and has a much better range of motion all together. I would have to say that her head control has improved the most drastically though.

Verbally both girls are improving too. Lena has a whole host of consonant sounds. She likes to slur them together so its hard to pinpoint which letters of the alphabet she favors the most. Lena also has been known to say MA MA MA (mostly when she’s terribly upset) and DA DA DAT. Kassie is growing her alphabetical library almost daily. She loves GA and BA and OH and WAH. She started saying MA MA MA on new years eve, what a great new years gift. Over the holidays my Dad worked on her and now she also says PAPA though its usually whispered (not sure why). She has also started stringing together some of her sound like GOH, and BAGA. I fear she will be talking my ear off in no time.

Both girls have been teething like crazy. Kassie has all 8 front teeth and is working on 2, maybe 3 molars. Molar teething is not great fun. She spiked such a high fever on Jan 1 I took her to the emergency room. We could not find anything wrong with her, conclusion was a virus or teething or both. The fever went away after a few days and she didn’t get sick so it must have been her teeth. Poor girl. Lena has been working on her teeth for quite some time. Poor kid I think she has been teething forever and she has only cut 4 teeth (one is barley through). I was looking in her mouth today and I can see tooth buds for another 4 teeth all around the same stage. Looks like I will have to take out shares in Tylenol and Motrin.

Now that the holidays are over all aspects of our "regular" life are back in full swing. Appointment  schedules are back on track and we are hustling and bustling all over the city. On Thursday the girls had their semi-annual review with our therapist team and the pediatrician at the Kinsmen Children’s Center. I think this post is plenty long though so I will update you all on how that went in another.

I am in love with the dimples, they are too cute. It looks like they had a great Christmas and got spoiled. We are waiting for snow here but due to global warming we do not have a speck of snow here in Ontario to go sledding. It is great to see the girls doing so well and so happy.

FYI Elizabeth’s kitchen came from the Sears catalogue. She really prefers to play with her cars though.

Hey, I love to look at the girls pictures, They are beautiful!(as all babies are!) My GD Bella had the crossed eyes, they say she was not preemie but has slower development like some preemies do, She was only 5 lbs at birth and 18 inches long- small for full term, she had the surgery done and I can’t tell you how fast she has caught up. If they let you opt that I would recommend it! Anyway no matter enjoy them they grow up fast and leave you speechless!
    Hugs~~
