Baby Girl Knows What She Wants

Published by Korrina at 6:29 pm under Daily, Family, Parenting

Little Miss Kassie knows what she wants. This has become a source of frustration for us both. She knows what she wants and wants nothings else once her mind has been set on something.

Problem: she is not mobile and gets frustrated because she can not always get what she wants and she is not verbal so she can not tell me what it is if she can not reach it.

Solution: become very resourceful. Kassie is extremely resourceful, her little arms are like go-go-gadget, her extension is amazing and when that doesn’t work whine until Mom or Dad figure it out.

Over the weekend she decided that she liked Faith’s cell phone - a Red Motorola Krazr and when she saw it, it was what she had to have, nothing else would do. Good thing Faith loves Kassie an aweful lot,  if anyone else tried to eat her phone she wouldn’t think it was so cute.

    Hi.

Just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say Thank You. I am mommy to premie twins (31 weeks and 5 days) as well as being a member of the Nervous Mums Association. Tend to worry more than not and so found your wonderfully postive blog very reassuring.

Lena and Kassie look lovely and I am really looking forward to the day my boys (they are now 6 months - adjusted 4 months) old discover their Daddy´s mobile phone :).

Thanks again and all the best to your lovely girls.

Nothing wrong with determination. It will be part of the reason that both of these girls prove to do things that you never thought possible. And I think I know where these little girls may have inherited it; not one parent, but possibly two? And siblings too?

Good for you Kassie! Now… if Nana just knew how to text, I could teach you with Faith’s phone - after you’re done eating it of course.

Have you ever watched “Signing Time”? A friend turned us on to it when I was pregnant. Seemed like a good idea to sign so we started watching the videos at about 5 months (I know I’m a bad mom) even before we knew that we were dealing with delays. Ben started signing all kinds of stuff around 8 months. Ben was non-verbal until he was almost 4 but he signed conversationally. He still loves the movies even though he rarely signs.
Sorry! I know that I sound like a sales pitch but I really don’t work for them. Promise! It was just a really great thing for Ben to “talk” when he couldn’t do so many other things.
Also-best of luck to your cell phones! I have mine on mama lock down after replacing the last one that my daughter trashed.

My Mom and Dad ordered the baby signing time videos for us today! Thanks! I have been thinking about teaching the girls signs for awhile now but wasn’t sure, thanks for that little extra push.

That’s so adorable!! I remember someone else that used to do that - usually saying “eh, eh, eh” until the object was in hand. Go, genetics!
