Kitchen Helper
My niece, Jordyn helping me in the kitchen. What a HAM, as soon as she saw the camera she had to pose for me.
Nana has trained Jordyn well. She always wants to help cook, breakfast, lunch, supper whatever. Heck this kid could make me breakfast in bed if she was old enough to use the stove by herself, Nana has taught her how to make pancakes, she knows all the ingredients and just how much of everything to put in.
Nana and Jordyn came for a visit on Tuesday to see the girls and so that Jordyn and Lucas could play together. She thought it would be much more fun to help make the spaghetti sauce. What a great little helper, she stirred the sauce beautifully (only a little wound up on the stove).
Kudos to Ashleigh (Jordyn’s Mommy). I have never met a more polite and grammatically correct 3 year old (almost 4). She always remembers to say PLEASE and THANK YOU for everything. Like "Papa will you PLEASE move out of my way". She put my grammar to shame when she saw the girls’ piano and said "Braydan (her brother) and I have that toy". My Dad still has to correct my grammar regularly. Oh, and Nana told me that Jordyn and Braydan have excellent restaurant manners, they wait patiently for their meal and eat politely. More than I can say for most kids. Ashleigh you will have to share your secrets, I can only hope that our girls will be half that good.

The secret is simple. Children won’t always do what you say… but they will always do what you do. All you have to do is be a good example and the teaching will be minimal.
Thanks for making me cry again… I sometimes think that when raising a child seems to go so smoothly that nobody realizes the hard work it actually is, big thank you for the recognition. As far as Jordyns behavior, she thinks I’m hard on her. The other day she said “Mom, all you ever say is no, no, no, when I have babies I’m going to tell them yes, yes, yes!!!”
