He’s at it Again
He’s at it again, destruction/construction. Summer is the season for construction and make work projects around our house, only this year I’m pretty much useless as far as construction is concerned. Babies don’t do well in a construction zone and needless to say they’re a little young to fend for themselves, so the construction assistant job has been handed down to the older kids this year.
The current project is a porch/back entrance expansion project that we have been trying to get done for a few years now. We have 8 people in our house, 6 of us are girls, lots of shoes. There used to be a basement entrance to our house when it was located on another farm, before yesterday that entrance, beside our porch was a yucky storage area. crazy OCD husband (did I also mention that he’s stubborn, a perfectionist and a jack of all trades handyman) has torn down the wall between the two rooms, torn out the floor that was in our porch and is currently taking all of the boards off the walls so that he can properly insulate it. A BIG job to say the least.
I have to congratulate him though, usually construction/destruction jobs and renovations give Wayne the opportunity to practice his four letter word vocabulary, most often in high volume. So far, he has controlled him self, except when the crow bar accidentally went through the window. I would have cursed too though. All I can say was, glad it wasn’t me, he probably would have come up with a few extra.
They say if your marriage can make it through a renovation, especially kit hen or bathroom, you can make it through anything. Well we’ve been through 2 kitchens (one partial, one total) and one bathroom (no shower for a week, our only shower). I guess we’re good to go.
