Desperate Search
This post is especially for those of you who have found this site through a search engine. I have noticed quite a few of the hits to this blog come from desperate Internet searches for information on your preemie babies. I am sorry that you have to experience this stress and pain. I went through it too, I know just how desperate you feel. I also know how good it feels to find anything when you are searching.
I hope that by finding this site you have found some of what you are looking for. I know there were many terrible days when all I could do was desperately search for information and stories to give me hope and make me feel better. When I wasn’t at the hospital I was constantly looking for more information. The more grim news the doctors gave us, the harder and longer I looked. I started this blog as a way to give back. I wanted the moms like me (and you) to have another place to find information and a good story with a happy ending.
Our story is not a perfect happy ending by any means, but it is happy. Sure, our girls have had some troubles and they are developmentally delayed but Wayne and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. They are the coolest babies around, to us they are perfect. I can’t imagine what life would have been like if we had made different choices. I can’t imagine not knowing Kassie’s infectious smile and her sparkling eyes or Lena’s fiery personality and her lightning fast grins. They truly are the light of our lives. They have given our lives a whole new meaning, we try not to tale anything for granted anymore, they have shown us how fragile life really is.
Please take your time and read through our story. Come back and visit us often, I try to post almost everyday. Visit my For Parents of Premature Babies page, there you will find medical information and links to other helpful places like March of Dimesand the The Tiny Miracles Foundation. I spent hours and hours on the March of Dimes site. They have a great support network with tonnes of families with hosts of different troubles and they are all willing to answer questions and offer their support. Check out their Parent to Parent section to search for discussions on specific medical conditions. I will also continue to add links as I find/remember them, so if you are having trouble finding info please check back.
