Yesterday at PT and OT both girls tried a custom made stander, Lena absolutely loved it, Kassie hated it but we were able to distract her so that she put weight through both legs, an important step to standing and walking.

Problem, we can only use it at the Kinsmen Children’s center for now. Apparently Health Canada decided a few months ago that all manufacturers of standers and some other types of medical equiptment had to have a special license to manufacture and supply them. The PTs and other specialized staff at the Kinsmen Children’s Center have been making theses things for years and they are better than some of the commercial ones and are made extra small for little guys like my girls. The ones that are available commercially are not small enough.

SO.. until I either find one or someone at KCC gets a license, we can only use it once a week for a few minutes during therapy because it is now illegal for them to provide it to me to use at home because they do not have one of these licenses and to date no one has even applied for one. URGHHH.
