Budding Musicians
I finally found our piano. The Classical Chorus Piano by Fisher Price was discontinued last year and I have been unable to find one for months. I was in Toys R Us one day looking for one since they used to sell them and much to my dismay they didn’t have any left. The sales clerk was nice enough to check a few other stores and somewhere they still had one, so she ordered it for us. What’s the big deal you ask? It’s just a piano you say! Well this piano is special, unlike the newer models that are geared for older babies that can sit up or stand, this one can be used three ways, laying down, sitting up or standing. the legs adjust accordingly and the piano body swivels so that the lights can be seen from the different angles.
Why spend so much time looking for a toy when we have an entire toy store in our living room? Why look for that toy when there are so many others out there? Surely there is something else that compares? Nope. When ever we go to PT and OT and Shelly and Laura bust out the toys with lights and sounds the girls LOVE them. The problem is most of the toys there are older and have been donated so if the girls love them they are hard to find. Today there is a trend toward soft plush toys that children have to use their imaginations with, much to the satisfaction of most parents it is amazingly hard to find toys that have lights and sounds. Now don’t get me wrong I am all for the imagination but I am also all about stimulation and my girls are stimulated by lights and sounds. I am game for anything that will attract their attention for more than 2 milliseconds and if it attracts their attention they want OT play with it and put in a lot more effort to reach/touch it and use those muscles we so badly need them to build. So I thought I would never say this but bring on the annoying toys. Lights and sounds, annoying noise, welcome here.

I wish I had know you have been searching for that piano, I have the same one stored away in Brayden’s closet. My house is about to burst at the seams with out-grown baby gear, let me know if there is anything else your dead-set on finding, perhaps I have one lying around here.
Those two children are surely a blessing from the Lord. My son and his wife had a preemie and it was in ICU for two months. That little girl is now a lively spitfire. Louise
